Moreover, the stakes are higher than ever this season. A massive $600 prize goes to the largest salmon. In addition, Northwoods Jack and Construction has donated more cash prizes. Second place takes home $200 while third place earns $100.

Generally, winners are ranked primarily by fish weight. Longest length serves as the first tiebreaker. Afterward, the earlier weigh-in time acts as the second tiebreaker. Please note that anglers can only enter one salmon over 16 inches.

The Famous Fish Pool Raffle

Similarly, we want to protect our local ecosystem. This derby encourages the harvest of smaller salmon. Thus, anglers receive a raffle ticket for every salmon under 16 inches. There is no bag limit for these smaller fish.

These tickets enter you into the Fish Pool. Eventually, one lucky winner receives $500 from the Cushing family. You could also win a two-night stay at Allagash Gateway Campground & Cabins. This prize is for two people on a non-holiday weekend.
