This enchanting annual tradition transforms the Sheepscot Valley into a nostalgic holiday wonderland—complete with steam-powered train rides, visits with Santa, handmade gifts, and a festive market hosted by SeaLyon Farm.

🎩 All Aboard the Victorian Christmas Train

Your adventure begins at Sheepscot Station, where you’ll board a beautifully restored historic train—pulled by either a vintage steam locomotive or a dinky diesel engine. Settle in for a 15-minute ride through snow-kissed pine forests, scenic farmlands, and the quiet winter landscape of the Sheepscot Valley. This is narrow-gauge railroading at its finest—slow, nostalgic, and magical.   

🎅 Santa Claus Awaits at Alna Center

Upon arrival at Alna Center Station, you’ll step into a charming Victorian-style Christmas scene:   

  • Meet Santa Claus inside the historic station   

  • ✨ Bring your Christmas wish list and snap family photos   

  • ✨ Warm up by the crackling bonfire   

  • ✨ Create a festive, handmade Christmas ornament   

  • ✨ Sip complimentary hot chocolate and coffee (co-sponsored by Sum’Battus BBQ)   

The stopover lasts 40–50 minutes, giving families plenty of time to enjoy all the activities.

Your ticket covers the full holiday experience, including the historic narrow-gauge train ride, the visit with Santa, complimentary hot beverages, ornament making, and access to the SeaLyon Christmas Market. Note that wheelchairs and pets cannot be accommodated for this event.

🚂 Train Departure Schedule

Victorian Christmas Trains depart from Sheepscot Station at: 10:00 AM, 10:40 AM, 11:20 AM, 12:00 PM, 12:40 PM, 1:20 PM, and 2:00 PM. Please allow extra travel time, as Route 1 in Wiscasset can be busy during December weekends.
