Pinetreejamboree 2025: The Ultimate 5th Anniversary Celebration of Vintage Speed at Winterport Dragway
Rev up your engines and step back in time! The Pinetreejamboree 2025 ½ Fast Hot Rod Races are returning for a monumental 5th Anniversary Celebration. From Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14, 2025, the historic Winterport Dragway (now known by many as Fernald Field Dragway) will transform into a living, breathing museum of automotive history.
This isn’t just a car show; it’s an adrenaline-fueled homage to the golden era of American racing. We are inviting all gearheads, history buffs, and families to witness the roar of flathead engines and the smell of burnt rubber in the crisp Maine air.
A Tradition of Authenticity: What Makes Pinetreejamboree Special?
The Pinetreejamboree has carved out a unique niche in the New England car culture by adhering to a “period-correct” philosophy. Founded by the English family of Traditional Speed and Custom, the event is dedicated to preserving the DIY spirit of 1920s–1950s hot rodding.
-
Period-Correct Racing: You won’t find modern electronics or “rat rods” here. Every entry is a pre-1953 masterpiece, featuring authentic flathead power.
-
A “1/2 Fast” Philosophy: As the organizers say, “It is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.” This event celebrates the ingenuity of the backyard builder.
-
The Historic Venue: Winterport Dragway is the oldest independent drag strip in the Northeast. Since 1967, this former WWII military airbase has been a sanctuary for speed, and its recent revival as Fernald Field ensures the tradition continues.
