The 33rd Annual Forest Heritage Days is back, bringing the rich history of Maine’s timber industry to life at the Bartley Family Event Center in Greenville. From heart-pounding timber sports to enlightening forest tours, this event offers an unforgettable experience for history buffs, families, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
A Weekend of Lumberjack Traditions
Our grassroots, non-profit festival is a collaborative effort between the Moosehead Historical Society, local logging representatives, and conservation leaders to preserve the story of the North Woods.
2024 Event Highlights:

Guided Forestry Bus Tours: (Thursday & Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) Embark on an enlightening journey from Greenville to Jackman. Visit the Moose River Lumber Mill and active forest operations to see modern sustainability in action. Cost: $55 (includes lunch).

Timber Sports & Demonstrations: (Saturday, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM) Watch the Colby College Woodsmen’s Team compete in the Underhand Chop, Axe Throw, and Log Roll.

Signature Dinners: Don’t miss the Masonic Bean Hole Bean Dinner (Friday, 5:30 PM) for an authentic taste of logging camp tradition.

Entertainment for All: Enjoy free horse and carriage rides, chainsaw carving demonstrations, and live music throughout the weekend.
2024 Signature Cruise: R&B on the “Kate”
Cap off your Saturday with the R&B Dance Cruise aboard the Historic Steamboat Katahdin. Dance the night away on the shimmering waters of Moosehead Lake from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
