On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Pleasant Mountain transforms into a high-energy festival grounds for the Spring Fling and Slush Cup. This isn’t just a day on the slopes—it’s a full-throttle celebration of soft snow, bright sunshine, and the inevitable “sink or skim” drama of the pond-skimming arena.

As we bid a spectacular farewell to winter, the Spring Fling brings together the elite energy of Maine’s ski community with live music, “Golden Era” retro vibes, and the chilling thrill of the Slush Cup. Whether you’re a seasoned skimmer or a spectator looking for the biggest splash, this is the ultimate spring skiing party you cannot afford to miss!

2025 Event Schedule: Don’t Miss a Minute

The mountain will be buzzing with activity from dawn until the final après-ski beat drops:

  • 8:30 AM: Registration opens at Guest Services. Arrive early—spots for the Slush Cup are a hot commodity!

  • All Day: Live music, outdoor grilling, and the legendary “Golden Era” costume party across the resort.

  • 1:30 PM: The main event begins! The Slush Cup kicks off at the base area of the Main Lodge.

  • Post-Race: Awards ceremony, après-ski parties, and celebratory dining at the on-site restaurant.

The Slush Cup: Can You Skim or Will You Sink?

The centerpiece of the day is the 100-foot-long, ice-cold pond. The objective is simple: maintain enough speed to glide across the water. The reality? A hilarious mix of triumphant glides and spectacular, crowd-pleasing wipeouts.

How to Enter the Arena:

  • Free Entry: Registration is free but limited to the first 100 participants.

  • Credentials: A valid lift ticket or season pass is required.

  • Safety: Helmets are highly encouraged, and costumes are practically mandatory.

  • Minors: Racers under 18 must have a parent/guardian present to sign liability paperwork.
