After a two-year hiatus due to uncooperative weather, this legendary Greenville Junction tradition is finally gearing up to celebrate its historic 25th Anniversary.

Car Racing on Moosehead Lake: A Saturday Spectacle

Every Saturday at noon (weather and ice conditions permitting), the frozen expanse of West Cove transforms into a high-speed arena.

  • The Action: Watch as modified cars and trucks compete on a custom-designed track carved directly into the ice of iconic Moosehead Lake.

  • The Atmosphere: It’s more than just a race; it’s a heart-pounding community celebration of Maine’s rugged winter spirit.

  • The After-Party: The excitement doesn’t end at the checkered flag! Fans and racers alike head to Woody’s Bar and Grill to swap stories, claim bragging rights, and enjoy the best après-race vibe in the Highlands.

How to Join the Legend

The West Cove Ice Racing Association thrives on camaraderie and is always looking for new members to join the ranks.

  • Season Kick-Off Meeting: Sunday, January 12th, at 6:00 PM.

  • Meeting Location: Woody’s Bar and Grill.

  • What to Expect: Learn about updated 2025 safety rules, the full racing schedule, and how you can get behind the wheel or help the pit crew.
